After all the rain and gloom, Pepsi was dying to get outside. Our poor senior queen had been parked at the door giving me her best “Do something about this” look for days. So I had a little brainstorm. Since the afternoons are getting so warm lately, maybe mornings are our sweet spot. A perfect little routine for my favorite old lady.
So to the patio we went. Pepsi basked in the sun like the diva she is, soaking it up like she earned it. Honestly, she has. And of course, I’m kicking myself for not snapping a photo. She looked so content and fabulous out there.
Alice came out too. She got to sit in the chair for a bit while I tended to Pepsi and blew some bubbles. Just a sweet little morning moment. Then I spotted this bright green clover poking up in the shaded part of the yard and plucked it, feeling all magical like maybe it was a lucky one. I offered it to Alice, but nope. No interest. Little stinker.
So naturally, I tucked it between her tiny toes and oh my goodness it was the cutest thing. I seriously live for these little moments. The sweet stuff. The blink-and-you-miss-it memories.
Stop and smell the flowers, right nugget? Or at least let me tuck them between your toes for a second as I watch the determination on your face getting that clover out!
These are the kinds of days I want to live more often. Calm, ordinary, soft mornings full of love, a little sunshine, and a whole lot of heart. I don’t just wait for cute moments to happen. I try to make them. One clover, one cat nap, one bubble at a time.
