Whew, what a beautiful Sunday we had! My husband is always such a good sport, truly just along for the ride most days, and today was no different.
I got this little idea in my head that I wanted to try making homemade pizza crust. Not just any crust. Oh no. I was aiming for hand-tossed with stuffed crust and a butter garlic glaze. Because why not challenge myself, and bring pizza to home kitchen? So we planned ahead and made the dough Saturday night, letting it do a nice slow rise in the fridge overnight. That way, we wouldn’t be scrambling between pizza prep and trying to get out the door for Rowan’s games.
Alice was living her best life in the wind, outfit changes and all. I swear, she waved that tiny hand all the way through both games. By the time we left, she had to be all waved out. It was adorable. She’s got the coordination of a little cheer captain already.
Now let me tell you about this pizza. I really outdid myself. That crust? Golden with an epic crunch I’ve never quite nailed before. The secret? Heating the pan in the oven while it preheats. Life changing. I honestly don’t know how I’ve never done that before. Add in the stuffed crust and that buttery, garlicky goodness on top, my mouth is watering just thinking about it again.
Best part? We got to enjoy it after spending time with Brett’s family. Good food, good people, and a day full of wind-swept memories.
