I Trimmed My First Hedge (and Survived to Tell the Tale)

Let me just say… I overeducated myself on hedge trimming. Thank you, YouTube, for the deep dive into every method known to man. I watched so many tutorials, you’d think I was gearing up to enter some backyard landscaping championship. Spoiler alert: I wasn’t.

Armed with way too much information and a pair of manual hedge clippers (yep, no electric trimmers here), I set out to conquer our bushy little overgrown hedge. It wasn’t until after we got the manual clippers that I learned, small leaf bushes are apparently not fans of electric trimmers anyway. So really, I’d like to say I accidentally made the right choice. Call it destiny.

It was a sweaty, awkward, arm-day workout of a job, but honestly? Pretty satisfying. Not Pinterest-perfect, but it’s shaped, it’s neat(ish), and I did it myself. My first hedge has officially been tamed.

Here’s to trying new things, learning way too much before doing them, and still winging it in the end.
