I had been stressing about Alice’s party for months. That’s just who I am, an overthinker. I kept telling Brett, “You’re going to have to do all the setup by yourself because of Alice’s nap schedule and her contact napping.” As the date crept closer, the stress just built.

Then one day, I was on the phone with my long-time friend April. She casually asked if I needed any help. Normally, I’d brush it off with a “We’ll make it work,” even if we were drowning in to-dos. But this time, I took a breath and said, “Yes please, you are the answer to my prayers.”

April not only came up, she stayed the night before. We had dinner together (a short visit since Alice’s bedtime came quick), but it was still so fun. The next morning, we had breakfast together before the day kicked into high gear.

And then, it was showtime. And holy crap, did April go above and beyond. She took care of everything when we got there, all while my head was spinning from juggling Alice’s naps and being my biggest distraction.

April helped more than my words can express, and I am so thankful for her. She truly saved the day. Thank you, April!
